Plan the Box Around the Product and the Buying Moment

The most effective music box package begins with decisions that can be produced consistently, not with a finish chosen in isolation. Before artwork is finalized, define the product profile, how it will be placed in the box, where the package will be seen and what the customer should encounter on opening. These planning steps turn a creative direction into a clear structure, artwork file and production order.

1. 
   Measure the Complete Packed Product

   Start with the exact length, width and height of the music box in the condition it will be packed. Note any raised feet, handles, winding keys, decorative parts or other projections where present. Include wrapping, an inner container or any card and accessory that must sit inside the same pack. Do not choose a stock dimension by appearance alone. The insert and removal plan also affect the final box size. Share the intended orientation, number of items, separation between pieces and the space needed to lift the product without forcing it. Those inputs allow the dieline to be built around the actual packed configuration rather than an invented standard size.

   Choose the Structure by Channel and Handoff

   For a lighter retail pack, a paperboard tuck or window format can keep identification clear and packing straightforward. For gifting, a rigid lid-and-base, magnetic, sleeve-and-tray or book-style format can give the handoff more physical presence and a more controlled reveal. For direct delivery, a supported corrugated presentation mailer can carry outside and inside print into the receiving moment. The right choice depends on the product profile, display needs, opening sequence, reclosure needs, insert plan and order quantity. Corrugated work here should be treated as customized product or presentation packaging rather than a large commodity shipping-carton request.

   Plan the Insert and Product Removal Together

   Foam, cardstock, paperboard, kraft, corrugated and cardboard inserts are available. The insert can be die cut around the product profile or a multi-item arrangement. Before production, decide which side faces the customer, whether a card or accessory needs its own position and how the music box will be lifted out. An insert should support the intended layout without making access awkward. A ribbon pull may be added where appropriate, or the die-cut shape can allow practical removal clearance. Share the packed product details early so the insert, box depth and opening method can be confirmed as one system.

   Build Artwork on the Approved Dieline

   AI, PDF, PSD and EPS files are accepted. Dieline or template support, artwork checking, resizing, bleed and safe-zone assistance, and production design support are available. Printing can cover the front, back, top, bottom, outside and inside, using full color, CMYK, PMS or spot colors where appropriate. Die and plate fees are not charged. A digital proof is available for every approved order. Use it to review placement, spelling, panel order and the relationship between exterior and interior artwork before production. The digital proof is not a physical prototype, and printing should not begin until the required artwork and structure approvals are complete.

   Set Quantity, Proof and Schedule Before Launch

   Paperboard, cardstock, kraft and supported corrugated music box packaging may start from 50 boxes. Supported rigid formats may start from 25. Relevant customization remains available at these starting quantities, subject to the approved structure and production specification. Per-unit pricing generally improves as volume rises, with more visible price differences often appearing around 500 units; no fixed saving percentage should be assumed. Production normally takes 4–6 business days after payment, final artwork approval and structure confirmation. Production-ready jobs are generally planned to print and ship within 7 business days. Shipping transit time is separate, while complex multi-design orders may need a separately confirmed schedule. A physical prototype may be available for a qualifying bulk or wholesale project, and its cost may be adjusted into the resulting order where approved. For distributed gifting or agency-led work, one order can be shipped to multiple addresses, and white-label or design-firm workflows are supported. Confirm destinations and project handoff requirements before the schedule is set. Bring the product measurements, intended box style, quantity, destination plan and available artwork to the quote stage.
