In-House Production
Give every clipboard a box that reflects the quality, purpose, and identity behind the product while making its arrival, handoff, or display feel deliberate. In a crowded retail display, sales presentation, or delivered order, buyers often judge the product before they handle the clipboard itself. Custom sizing, coordinated print, and a suitable structure turn a plain outer pack into a clear expression of the brand. The result is a box that helps the product look organized, considered, and easy to identify at first sight, while carrying the same visual standard through close comparison, receipt, and opening. We build custom clipboard boxes around the impression you want customers to receive and the way the product needs to be presented. Whether the priority is a clean professional look, a gift-ready set, or a consistent range, the packaging can be planned to support that outcome without forcing the product into a generic stock format. That promise is supported through fit planning, paperboard, kraft, corrugated, or rigid material routes, exterior and interior printing, selective finishes, and inserts where the configuration needs them. Our team can help with dimensions, dielines, artwork checks, bleed and safe-zone preparation, resizing, and digital proofing before production. You gain a guided process that connects the visible brand idea to a box that can be approved and produced with greater confidence.

STRUCTURES FOR THE JOB
Choose a Box That Fits the Clipboard and the Sale
The right clipboard box depends on more than the outside dimensions. A single retail product may need a compact folding carton, while a presentation set, branded handoff, or delivered order may call for a two-piece, mailer, or rigid route. The product’s thickness, attached clip, included accessories, insert needs, opening direction, and visible brand panels all affect the choice. We help you compare practical structures without losing sight of the customer experience, so the selected format can hold the product in a considered arrangement, carry the right visual message, and support the way the clipboard will be displayed, received, or opened.
Straight Tuck Clipboard Boxes
Use a straight tuck format when the clipboard needs a clean folding-carton route with broad printable panels and straightforward presentation for retail display, direct handoff, or organized delivery.
- Single-clipboard configurations
- Custom fit around the clip
- Print across key outer panels
- Suited to retail or handoff
This route keeps the product easy to identify while giving the brand a clear, orderly surface.

Customize NowMATERIAL THAT SETS THE TONE
Choose the Feel That Supports the Product
The material sets the physical tone before customers study the artwork or open the box. Smooth paperboard can support a clean, precise appearance for branded retail products, while kraft can create a more natural and direct character. Rigid greyboard can give selected gift or presentation sets greater substance, and corrugated board can carry the brand into a product-mailer or kit format. We help you choose by the impression the clipboard should create, the product’s fit and weight, the selected structure, and the way the box will be displayed, handed over, delivered, or opened.
Smooth Paperboard for Clear Definition
Paperboard can support crisp graphics, controlled brand colors, product information, and a clean professional appearance. It is a practical route when the clipboard needs to feel organized and easy to understand without the box becoming visually heavy. The final board choice should reflect the product dimensions, clip profile, selected closure, and intended pack configuration.
Kraft for a Natural, Direct Character
Kraft can give a clipboard box a more tactile, craft-led, or straightforward identity. White ink, full-color printing, and selected finishes can be used to create contrast while retaining the material’s visible character. This route works best when the natural surface supports the brand idea rather than being selected as an isolated material trend.
Rigid Greyboard for Considered Handoffs
Rigid greyboard can give gift sets, presentation programs, and selected business handoffs a stronger sense of substance. Wrapped surfaces, inside printing, finishes, magnetic closures, ribbons, and fitted inserts can be considered where they support the approved structure. The value comes from making the product feel deliberately prepared for the recipient.
Corrugated Board for Branded Mailer Formats
Corrugated material can carry the brand into mailer, product-box, promotional, presentation, or kit formats. Exterior and interior printing can help the receiving experience feel connected to the same identity customers saw before opening. This route is intended for product-specific branded packaging rather than large commodity shipping-carton positioning.
CLARITY ACROSS EVERY PANEL
Make the Clipboard and Brand Clear at First Sight
A clipboard box should help customers understand the product and the brand without making them search for the important cues. Printing can distinguish product versions, keep a parent identity consistent across a range, and organize information across the front, back, top, bottom, sides, or inside surfaces. Full-color CMYK, PMS spot colors, digital or offset printing, and white ink on kraft provide different production routes. The value lies in using those options with purpose: making the product easier to recognize, the range easier to navigate, and the package more consistent across retail display, direct handoff, product photography, or delivery.
- Distinguish product styles and versions
- Keep the parent brand visible
- Use every relevant outer panel
- Continue brand cues inside
- Build campaign or event editions
- Stay consistent across selected channels
FINISHES THAT GUIDE ATTENTION
Control What Customers Notice and Feel First
A finish earns its place when it helps the buyer read the package in the right order and feel the intended level of quality in the hand. Matte, gloss, soft-touch, spot UV, foil, embossing, debossing, and raised effects can all be produced, but the strongest result does not come from using everything at once. We help you decide which surface should stay quiet, which detail should lead, and where contrast can support a special set, campaign, or gift program without weakening the main brand identity.
-
Set the Overall Surface Mood
Matte or soft-touch treatment can give professional, executive, or gift-led clipboard packaging a calmer and more considered feel. Gloss can support brighter artwork when stronger color clarity and surface energy better match the product identity. The right choice should reinforce the intended character of the complete package rather than compete with the printed design.
-
Give Important Details More Weight
Foil, embossing, debossing, spot UV, or raised effects can give selected elements greater visual or tactile importance. A logo, product name, campaign mark, or presentation-program title can be emphasized without covering every panel with decoration. The purpose is to guide attention toward the information customers should notice first.
-
Distinguish Special Programs
Recognition programs, event editions, onboarding kits, corporate gifts, or limited campaign releases can use selective surface contrast to feel different from the standard range. Shared colors, typography, and logo placement can preserve the parent identity while the finish marks the specific purpose or occasion.
PLAN THE EXPERIENCE INSIDE
Make Opening Feel Clear, Ordered, and On Brand
The outside of a clipboard box sets an expectation; the inside should complete it. A loose product, disconnected graphics, or unclear arrangement can make a well-designed exterior feel unfinished. For a single clipboard, presentation set, onboarding kit, or gift program, interior printing and fitted inserts can help the contents feel intentional and easy to understand. The goal is not decoration for its own sake. It is to carry the brand through opening, give the product a clear place, and guide the recipient from the first view to comfortable product removal.
-
Continue the Identity
Carry selected colors, graphics, or short messaging onto the inside surface where the structure supports interior printing. This keeps the brand present after the lid lifts, sleeve slides, or mailer opens, instead of allowing the experience to stop at the outside panels.
-
Arrange the Clipboard and Extras
Foam, cardstock, paperboard, kraft, corrugated, or cardboard inserts can be planned around the approved product configuration. Where pens, documents, cards, or other components are included, each item can be given a defined place so the recipient can understand the set without sorting through loose contents.
-
Shape the First View
A two-piece, sleeve-and-tray, mailer, or rigid format can be planned around what the recipient sees first and how the clipboard is removed. The product, supporting message, and included components should appear in an order that supports the reason the package was created, whether that is gifting, onboarding, recognition, presentation, or product sale.
Plan, Approve, and Order with Confidence
A successful order starts with decisions that connect the clipboard, the chosen structure, the artwork, and the production plan. Our team can help you work through those decisions in the right order, so the box is based on confirmed product information rather than assumptions. The guidance below explains what to prepare, what can be customized, and where an approval or production condition matters.
-
Measure the Clipboard Before Choosing Dimensions
Custom sizing should begin with the actual product, not a guessed box size. Provide the clipboard’s length, width, and overall height, including the highest point of the clip. Also note any wrapping, protective layer, printed insert, pen, document pack, or accessory that will ship in the same box. Where an insert is needed, the arrangement and removal clearance should be planned before the dieline is finalized. We do not recommend relying on an unsupported standard dimension because even similar clipboards can differ in clip profile, board thickness, corner shape, or bundled contents. Once the full configuration is clear, the structure can be planned around the product rather than forcing the product into a generic carton.
-
Match the Structure to the Sales and Opening Moment
The best structure depends on how the clipboard will be displayed, handed over, delivered, or opened. A folding paperboard or kraft carton can support a straightforward retail or business-product route. A two-piece or sleeve-and-tray format can create a more deliberate reveal. A corrugated mailer can suit a branded product, promotional, or kit format without positioning the order as a large commodity shipping carton. Rigid greyboard can be considered for selected gift, recognition, or presentation programs where a more substantial box character is part of the brief. We can compare these routes against the product fit, pack count, insert needs, print surfaces, and intended customer moment before the structure is approved.
-
Prepare Artwork for the Confirmed Dieline
Artwork should be built on the final approved structure. Free dieline or template support is available, along with artwork checking, resizing, bleed and safe-zone assistance, and design support. Accepted production files include AI, PDF, PSD, and EPS. Printing can cover relevant outside and inside surfaces, and available routes include full-color CMYK, PMS spot color, digital, and offset printing. A digital proof is available for every approved order so you can review the layout before production. The digital proof confirms the approved artwork plan; it is not a physical prototype, and printing does not begin before the required approval. Any buyer-supplied legal, regulated, or product information remains the buyer’s responsibility.
-
Set Quantity, Price, and Prototype Expectations
Paperboard, cardstock, kraft, and supported corrugated clipboard-box orders may start from 50 boxes. Supported rigid-box orders may start from 25. Starting at these quantities does not automatically remove relevant choices such as custom sizing, inside or outside printing, finishes, or inserts, although every option remains subject to the approved structure and production specification. Per-unit pricing generally improves as quantity increases, with more visible differences often appearing around 500 units. No fixed saving percentage should be assumed before quotation. Supported orders carry no die or plate fee. A physical prototype may be available for a qualifying bulk or wholesale project, and its cost may be adjusted into the resulting order where approved. A physical prototype is different from the digital proof supplied with every approved order. One-box production and unrestricted free samples are not offered.
-
Confirm Production and Delivery Before Launch
Production normally takes 4–6 business days after payment, final artwork approval and structure confirmation. Production-ready jobs are generally planned to print and ship within 7 business days. Shipping transit time is separate, while complex multi-design orders may require a separately confirmed schedule. The timing should therefore be planned from the point at which payment, artwork, and structure are all ready, not from the first inquiry. A general rush promise should not be applied to rigid or corrugated jobs. For programs that need delivery to more than one location, multi-address shipping is available, but the addresses and shipping plan should be confirmed as part of the order. Bring the product details, intended use, quantity, artwork status, and target schedule into the quote conversation. That gives the packaging team enough context to recommend a structure, prepare the dieline, and identify any decision that must be resolved before production.
CLIPBOARD BOX QUESTIONS
Answers Before You Size, Print, and Order
Yes. The box can be planned around the actual clipboard rather than an assumed stock size. We will need the product’s length, width, overall height, and the highest point of the clip, plus any wrapping, inserts, documents, pens, or accessories included in the pack. These details help determine the dieline, internal arrangement, and removal clearance. Exact dimensions should be confirmed from the physical product or approved specification before production.
Guidance is available because the right style depends on how the clipboard will be sold, received, and opened. Folding paperboard or kraft boxes can suit a direct retail or business-product route. Two-piece and sleeve-and-tray formats can create a more deliberate reveal, while corrugated mailers can support branded product, kit, or promotional use. Rigid boxes may suit selected gift or presentation programs. We compare the product fit, insert needs, print surfaces, quantity, and intended customer moment before recommending a structure.
Yes. Relevant front, back, top, bottom, side, and inside surfaces can be printed where the approved structure allows. Available routes include full-color CMYK, PMS spot color, digital printing, offset printing, and white ink on kraft. The strongest artwork plan uses each surface for a clear purpose, such as product identification, parent-brand continuity, instructions, or a branded opening message, rather than filling every panel without a hierarchy.
Yes. Foam, cardstock, paperboard, kraft, corrugated, and cardboard insert routes are available, subject to the selected structure and product configuration. An insert can be planned around a single clipboard, a presentation set, or selected accessories so each item has a defined place. Provide the dimensions and arrangement of every included component before the dieline is approved. This allows the box and insert to be developed as one coordinated pack rather than as separate decisions.
Yes. A smaller business can begin with packaging built around its own product and brand without committing to a very large first run. Paperboard, cardstock, kraft, and supported corrugated orders may start from 50 boxes, while supported rigid formats may start from 25. Relevant sizing, printing, finish, and insert choices can remain available at those starting quantities where they suit the approved structure and production specification. This gives you room to test a launch or prepare a focused program without defaulting to generic stock packaging.
AI, PDF, PSD, and EPS files are accepted for production preparation. Free dieline or template support, artwork checking, resizing, bleed and safe-zone assistance, and design support are available. Artwork should be placed on the final approved dieline, not an estimated structure. A digital proof is provided for every approved order so you can review the layout before production. That proof is digital rather than a physical prototype, and printing begins only after the required approval.
Production normally takes 4–6 business days after payment, final artwork approval and structure confirmation. Production-ready jobs are generally planned to print and ship within 7 business days. Shipping transit time is separate, while complex multi-design orders may require a separately confirmed schedule. The production clock therefore depends on the job being fully ready, including payment, artwork, and structure approval. Rigid and corrugated jobs should not be placed under a general rush promise.
