In-House Production
Custom boxes with cavity inserts turn loose or uneven products into an intentional arrangement, helping customers understand the set, recognize the brand and enjoy a cleaner first reveal. When products, accessories or components arrive without a clear place, the package can feel generic even when the exterior is well designed. A custom cavity insert changes that experience by giving each approved item a defined position within the box. The organized interior helps the product feel considered at retail, during a sales handoff, in a gift set or when an online order is opened, while coordinated exterior and interior artwork keeps the brand connected from first sight to product lift-out. We help you build the box and cavity plan as one packaging system rather than treating the insert as an afterthought. The service can support a single product, several components or a complete kit, with the structure, material character and opening sequence shaped around the result your customer should receive. That result is supported by custom sizing, foam or paper-based insert routes, paperboard, kraft, rigid and relevant corrugated box structures, exterior and interior printing, and finishes that direct attention to selected brand cues. Dieline and artwork support help prepare the layout, and a digital proof gives you a clear review point before approved production begins. Starting quantities depend on the chosen box material and structure.

CAVITY INSERT ROUTES
Choose the Insert That Shapes the Reveal
Different products need different kinds of interior support. A compact item may need a simple fitted cavity, while a kit, tool set, cosmetic collection or promotional set may need several positions arranged in a clear sequence. The best route depends on product shape, component count, box style, handling needs and the moment the customer first sees the contents. Foam can be die-cut around product and component shapes, while paperboard, cardstock, kraft and corrugated insert routes can support different visual and structural goals. Use these options as starting points, then plan the cavity layout and outer box together.
Foam Cavity Inserts
Use a die-cut foam insert to give one product or several components defined positions inside a custom box, creating a controlled interior for gifting, kits, launches or considered handoffs.
- Single or multi-item layouts
- Die-cut product-shaped cavities
- Coordinates with branded interiors
- Gift, kit or handoff use
A fitted foam route gives the contents a deliberate order and supports a cleaner product lift-out.

Corrugated Cavity Inserts
Choose a corrugated or cardboard insert for relevant kit, promotional, product or presentation boxes that need stronger internal structure without shifting into commodity shipping-carton positioning.
- Larger or grouped components
- Structured internal arrangement
- Pairs with branded outer boxes
- Kit or presentation use
This route gives larger product sets a more purposeful layout and a clearer opening sequence.
Customize NowMATERIALS THAT SET THE TONE
Build the Right Physical Character Around the Product
The material choice decides whether a cavity-insert box feels compact and efficient, natural and craft-led, substantial and gift-ready, or structured for a larger kit. It also affects how the insert relates to the outer box. Foam can create a sharply defined interior around approved product shapes, while paperboard, cardstock, kraft, corrugated board and rigid greyboard each bring a different level of visual and physical presence. The right choice begins with the product, the customer moment and the character the brand needs to express—not with thickness or cost alone. Foam for a Defined Interior: Foam creates a defined, sculpted interior around approved product and component shapes. It can support a clean, technical or gift-set character, especially when the outer box should open onto an ordered layout rather than loose contents.
Paperboard and Cardstock for Cohesion
Paperboard and cardstock support a lighter, more integrated box-and-insert system. Smooth board can suit crisp graphics and a clean carton character, while planned board support keeps the inner layout connected to the outer structure.
Kraft for a Natural Character
Kraft gives the package a natural, craft-led and understated character. Used for the outer structure, insert or both, it can make the inside feel intentionally related to the exterior instead of introducing a separate generic component.
Rigid Greyboard for Greater Presence
Rigid greyboard gives gift, launch and presentation boxes more physical presence. Paired with a fitted foam cavity, it can create a substantial handoff and a deliberate first view of the product or set.
Corrugated Board for Structured Sets
Corrugated board can support branded kit, product, mailer and presentation formats where a larger or more structured arrangement is required. Its value here is customized product presentation—not large commodity shipping cartons.
MAKE THE SYSTEM RECOGNIZABLE
Connect the Outer Box, Insert and Product Story
An organized interior works best when customers can also understand what they are seeing. Custom printing can establish the parent brand on the exterior, identify a product or kit, distinguish variants and continue visual cues inside the box. Full-color CMYK, PMS or spot colors, white ink on kraft and relevant metallic ink routes give the artwork room to match the chosen market position. Printing may extend across usable front, back, top, bottom, outside and inside surfaces of the approved structure. The result is a box that reads as one coordinated system at first sight, during opening and while each item is selected. Led Printing Priorities
- Make the product set easy to understand
- Keep every component visibly connected
- Carry brand cues inside the box
- Separate variants without fragmenting the range
- Use interior messages with a purpose
- Stay recognizable across selected handoff moments
SURFACE DETAILS WITH DIRECTION
Control What Customers Notice Before They Open
With a cavity-insert box, the finish should prepare customers for the level of order and care they will see inside. The goal is not to cover every panel with effects. It is to decide which cue should lead: the brand name, the product title, a technical detail, a gift message or the edge of a special-edition design. Matte, gloss, soft-touch, spot UV, foil, embossing, debossing and raised effects can shape that hierarchy when they are used selectively. A clear surface plan helps the outer box and fitted interior feel connected rather than designed as separate parts.
-
Set the Surface Mood
Matte or soft-touch lamination can give a gift, launch or technical set a calmer and more considered feel. Gloss can support brighter artwork and stronger color clarity when the brand needs more visual energy.
-
Give the Main Cue More Weight
Foil, embossing, debossing, spot UV, raised UV or raised foil effects can give a selected name, symbol or product cue greater visual and tactile importance. The purpose is to guide attention, not decorate every available panel.
-
Separate Special Sets With Restraint
Launch editions, seasonal sets and limited programs can use a controlled change in foil, texture or surface contrast. This helps the special pack feel distinct while keeping it connected to the same parent brand.
PLAN THE FIRST REVEAL
Make Every Product Position Part of the Experience
A fitted cavity creates more than order. It decides what customers see first, how separate items relate and whether the product feels considered when the box opens. For a single product, the insert can frame the main item and reduce visual distraction. For a kit, sampler, launch set or promotional pack, it can create a clear path through several components. Coordinated interior printing can keep the brand present beyond the lid, while spacing and removal clearance help the contents feel easier to understand and select. The result is a reveal that supports the reason the package was chosen.
-
Connect Keep the Brand Present Inside
Carry relevant colors, graphics or a short message onto approved interior surfaces so the identity established outside remains visible when the lid or carton opens.
-
Arrange Give Every Item a Clear Role
Use the cavity plan to show which product leads, which components support it and how the set belongs together. This can make kits, samplers and grouped products easier to understand.
-
Reveal Make Selection and Lift-Out Feel Natural
Plan spacing, visibility and removal clearance around the approved contents so customers can see and select each item without the interior feeling loose, crowded or visually disconnected.
Plan the Fit, Approvals and Order With Confidence
A cavity insert only works well when the product, insert and outer box are planned together. This section helps you prepare the information needed for sizing, compare material and structure routes, organize artwork and approvals, and place the order with a realistic production plan. The goal is to remove uncertainty before production—not to force an existing product into a generic cavity.
-
Map Every Item Before the Dieline
Begin with everything that will sit inside the finished package. Provide the length, width and height of each product, note irregular edges or projecting parts, and include any pouch, wrap, inner container, cable, booklet or accessory that will remain in the box. State the pack count and show how you want the contents arranged. It also helps to explain which item should be seen first and how the customer should remove it. These inputs allow the cavity and outer box to be planned around the actual set. Exact cavity dimensions, spacing and removal clearance should be confirmed through the approved structural process rather than estimated from a standard box size.
-
Choose the Insert and Box as One Structure
The insert material should suit the product configuration and the physical character of the box. Foam can be die-cut around approved product and component shapes. Paperboard, cardstock, kraft, cardboard and corrugated inserts are also available, subject to the selected structure. The outer box can then be planned in paperboard, kraft, rigid greyboard or a relevant corrugated construction. A rigid box with a fitted foam cavity may suit a gift, launch or presentation set. A paperboard or kraft carton with a board insert may suit a lighter retail or promotional format. Corrugated routes can support relevant product, kit, presentation or mailer uses, but this page should not be treated as a large commodity shipping-carton offer.
-
Plan Around the Customer Moment
Decide where the package will be seen and how the contents will be used. A retail pack may need quick product and variant recognition. A gift or sales handoff may need a more deliberate first view. A kit, sampler or promotional set may need a sequence that helps customers understand several items. A direct-delivery format may need the brand to remain clear when the parcel is opened. These are alternative use cases, not requirements for every order. Sharing the main channel helps the team recommend a box style, insert route and opening arrangement that support the actual customer encounter.
-
Prepare Artwork for the Approved Structure
Artwork should be built on the approved dieline so important elements do not cross cut lines, folds, bleed areas or safe zones unexpectedly. Dieline or template support, artwork checking, resizing, bleed and safe-zone assistance, and design support are available. AI, PDF, PSD and EPS production files are accepted. Printing can be planned for the exterior and interior, including usable front, back, top, bottom and inside surfaces of the approved structure. Full-color CMYK, PMS or spot colors, white ink on kraft and metallic ink routes are available. No separate die or plate fee is charged.
-
Use Proofing to Confirm the Production File
A digital proof is available for every approved order. Use it to review the artwork position, copy, color references and panel layout before printing begins. It is an approval stage for the production file; it is not a physical sample and should not be treated as one. A physical prototype may be available for a qualifying bulk or wholesale project. Where approved, its cost may be adjusted into the resulting order. Availability and timing should be confirmed for the specific project rather than presented as an unrestricted free sample.
-
Select a Quantity That Fits the Project
Paperboard, cardstock, kraft and supported corrugated orders may start from 50 boxes. Supported rigid-box orders, including relevant rigid formats with foam inserts, may start from 25 boxes. These starting quantities do not automatically remove relevant sizing, print, finish or insert choices, provided the selected structure and production specification support them. Per-unit pricing generally improves as quantity increases, with more visible price differences often appearing around 500 units. No fixed saving percentage should be assumed. One-box production is not offered. For multi-location programs, the same order can be shipped to multiple addresses, and white-label or design-firm workflows can also be supported.
-
Build the Schedule From Final Approval
Production normally takes 4–6 business days after payment, final artwork approval and structure confirmation. Production-ready jobs are generally planned to print and ship within 7 business days. Shipping transit time is separate, while complex multi-design orders may require a separately confirmed schedule. This timing is not a guaranteed seven-day delivery promise. The production clock does not begin before the required approvals and confirmations are complete. Confirm the project schedule before production, especially when several designs, structures or insert layouts are included in one order. A clear product map, approved structure and final artwork give the order a stronger starting point. Share the full set, intended arrangement, customer channel, quantity and delivery needs so the quote can be built around the real packaging decision.

Yes. Foam inserts can be die-cut around the approved size, shape and component layout, while cardstock, paperboard, kraft, cardboard and corrugated insert routes are also available. The best option depends on the product geometry, box style, number of items and intended opening. Accurate measurements must include any pouch, wrap or inner container that stays on the product. Final fit is confirmed through the approved structural process rather than taken from a generic cavity size.
Yes. The cavity plan can organize a single item, several components or a complete kit. Share the number of products, their individual measurements, any accessories or printed materials, and the order in which you want customers to see them. Foam can be die-cut around product and component shapes, while paper-based and corrugated insert routes may support other approved arrangements. The final layout should leave suitable spacing and removal clearance, which will be confirmed during structural planning.
The right choice depends on the product, the outer box and the impression you want the opened package to create. Foam supports a defined, shaped interior around approved products and components. Paperboard or cardstock can keep a lighter carton feeling visually connected from outside to inside. Kraft supports a natural or craft-led character. Corrugated or cardboard inserts can suit relevant kit, product, presentation or mailer formats that need a more structured arrangement. Guidance is available before the dieline is finalized.
Yes. A fitted cavity can give the main product and supporting items a deliberate order, while exterior and interior printing keep the brand connected through opening. A rigid box with a foam insert may suit a substantial gift, launch or presentation set. Paperboard, kraft or relevant corrugated routes may suit lighter promotional, retail or delivery formats. The structure, finish and insert should be selected around the actual handoff or opening moment rather than added as separate design choices.
Yes. Paperboard, cardstock, kraft and supported corrugated formats may start from 50 boxes, while supported rigid formats may start from 25. Relevant custom sizing, exterior or interior printing, finishes and insert choices remain available where they suit the approved structure and production specification. This allows a growing business to prepare a launch, retail test, gift set or promotional program around its own product and brand without defaulting to a generic stock package or an unnecessarily large first run.
Measure every item that will sit inside the package. Provide length, width and height, note irregular edges or projecting parts, and include any pouch, wrap, inner container, cable, booklet or accessory that remains in the box. State the pack count, preferred arrangement and which item should be seen first. The team can then plan the outer box, cavity positions, spacing and removal clearance. Do not rely on an assumed standard size when the product set has not been measured.
